You Are My 2 AM Thoughts — a poem

Day 3: 29 Days of Poetry 🕯️🖤

 Having that one person—your person
—is the best feeling. Ever.
Waking up each morning
with thoughts of them lingering in your memory,
their pretty scent filling your nostrils with joy,
 both of you entangled in a lover’s knot,
a haven of pure bliss 
that your face burns with the brightest smile,
blinding & binding. 
The sanity you feel when you are with them, 
the serenity it brings to your life,
all turbulence subdued. 
You know it. You feel it. You don't want it to end.
Just you two,
alone, in that moment, 
time, your slave—It is slow, unmoving,
bending to your will.
You feel like forever is attainable 
and that you can spend eternity 
in each other’s arms.
