Today, we celebrate the beauty and power of poetry, a form of art that has the ability to inspire, provoke thought, and connect us all. Whether it's through the words of classic poets like Shakespeare or contemporary poets like Warsan Shire, poetry has a way of capturing the essence of the human experience and expressing it in a way that touches our hearts.

On this day, I celebrate my own poetry books “The Demons We Run From”, “Ubuntu”, And “Lachrymose” and I celebrate all the poetry I write, the ones I post @let_alpha_write and the ones I never get the courage to share with the world.

Poetry found me at a time of my life when I needed an outlet, a way to let my pain be free.

In short, writing (poetry) has saved my life!

Poetry has the unique ability to express the deepest and most complex emotions that we may not be able to articulate otherwise. It can act as a cathartic release for feelings of sadness, grief, or anxiety, as well as a celebration of joy, love, and beauty.

Through the creative use of language, poetry allows us to explore the human experience in a way that is both personal and universal. It has the power to connect people from all walks of life, as it speaks to our shared humanity and the emotions that we all experience.

On this World Poetry Day, let's celebrate the beauty and power of language. Let's take a moment to appreciate the poets who have touched our lives and to discover new voices that can move us forward.
